Armand Cyrel Sanders, Jr

Delta Junction resident ARMAND CYREL SANDERS JR. died Sept. 15, 2002, in Fairbanks. He was 56. A memorial service was held at First Baptist Church in Delta Junction. The Rev. Glenn Cotton officiated.

Mr. Sanders was born Feb. 4, 1946, in Park City, Mont. He graduated salutatorian from Beaver Head County High School and attended Montana State College. He then served in the Army from 1967-1970, during which time he received the Good Conduct Medal. The Army brought him to Fort Richardson in 1967 and he decided to make Alaska his home. He had lived in Anchorage, Kenny Lake, Wasilla and Delta Junction. Mr. Sanders was employed with Alyeska through Ocean Tech as a surveyor. His family wrote: ''He enjoyed being in the great out-of-doors fishing, skiing, hunting, bird watching and camping. In 1983 he was married to Vickie Donley in Anchorage.'' Armand was preceded in death by his father, Armand C. Sanders; mother, Edna Pauline Sanders; sister, Sally; and brothers, Ron and Dan.

He is survived by his wife, Vickie Sanders; daughters, Erin and Lindsey Sanders; and son, Christopher Donley. Memorials may be made to the Sanders' children trust fund at Delta Library, P.O. Box 229, Delta Junction 99737. Arrangements were by Fairbanks Funeral Home and Crematory.
