What's happened since?:
Since leaving Alyeska as an employee in the mid 70's, I built commercial and industrial buildings in Anchorage and Fairbanks, with occasional work for both owner companies of Alyeska, and Alyeska itself.
In 1989 when Alyeska took over the "Exxon Valdez" project in Prince William Sound, I was retained as a contract construction manager, and then shortly after, rejoined Alyeska as an employee and became the project manager. Construction of all the "Spill Response" centers, the SERVS base, etc were part of the project. I retired from Alyeska in 1996. Since then I have worked with and for the various oil companies in Alaska managing construction various projects such as the Alpine project, etc.
