Dryden "Mac" McIntosh

Dryden “Mac” McIntosh
12 April 1937 – October 6, 2026

Dryden "Mac" McIntosh was born in Sacramento, California to Dryden Hudson McIntosh and Carol (Martin) McIntosh on 21st April 1937.  Dryden passed away in Green Valley, AZ on October 6th of 2026 year.

Dryden served in the Navy as an electrician from 1955 to 1959 on the USS Molala, STF-106, an ocean-going tug, off the Pacific West Coast, Alaska and Far East.  Afterwards he took odd jobs until hired as an electrician for the Alameda County Water district in Fremont, California. In 1974 Dryden and his family moved to Klamath Falls, Oregon where he worked as an electrician for Weyerhaeuser corporation.  During this time his first wife Gayle and 4 children lived on a 40-acre ranch.

In 1977 Dryden took a job offer to work in Valdez as a start-up electrician and permanent employee for Alyeska Pipeline Service Company (APSC). He moved his family and raised his children there. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. During winters, Dryden and his son Larry often took snowmachine trips traversing glaciers, ice fields, rivers, and mountains in the surrounding areas.

Dryden then remarried to Sandi Hurlston.  They were married or 33 years.  Dryden and Sandi bought a sailboat and traveled the eastern coast of America, the Caribbean, transited the Panama Canal and continued onto San Carlos, Mexico to terminate their adventure there.

In addition, they often lived in a motor home and traveled all over America. Eventually Dryden and Sandi settled down in Keizer, Oregon in a home they shared together.

Dryden is survived by his children, Larry McIntosh, Debbie Turner, Tiffany Gallehugh, the youngest of the children, Dryden McIntosh and by his wife Sandi McInstosh.

Dryden’s son, Larry McIntosh, retired as a second generation APSC employee in Valdez and was fortunate to be able to work alongside his dad at times during the period they both worked at Alyeska together.
