Ellis Wellington Mercer
June 16, 1939 – April 18, 2004

 

Ellis W Mercer, 64, of 1327 N 38th St., Sheboygan died at his residence on Sunday morning, April 18, 2004, following a lengthy illness.

Ellis was born on June 16, 1939, in Long Beach Calif., the son of the late Ellis Wellington and Thelma (Campbell) Mercer.  Ellis graduated from Anchorage, Alaska High School in1958 and New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, NM, in 1969.  On March 14.1958, he married the former Ora-Zella Smith in Anchorage. Ellis was a ovil engineer for the Alyeska Pipeline Service Co. in Anchorage for 13 years prior to his retirement in 1991.

Ellis was a member of Fountain Park United Methodist Church in Sheboygan and the Society of Civil Engineers.

Ellis is survived by his wife Ora-Zella, two daughters, Gretchen (Neil) Collin of Alberta, Canada, and Cynthia (Gil) Pascual of Phoenix, Ariz., one son Ellis III ‘Trey' Mercer of Sheboygan, and three grandchildren Amber-Starr Choma, April (Tony) Genske and Austin Mercer, and two great grandchildren. Ellis was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son, Kenneth Mercer.

A memorial service will be held remembering Ellis’s life at 11 a.m. on Tuesday April 20. 2004. at Fountain Park United Methodist Church m Sheboygan with the Rev. Thomas White officiating

Friends may greet the family on Tuesday, at church, prior to the service beginning at 10 a.m.

A memorial fund is being established in his memory for the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

The staff of the Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Fata is serving the family.
