Wayne Hibbeln

Wayne P. Hibbeln
August 21, 1947 – November 29, 2021

Wayne Hibbeln passed away on November 29, 2021, at the Rockwood Retirement Center in Spokane, Washington.  He was laid to rest in Lewiston, Idaho at the Lewis-Clark Memorial Gardens.

Wayne is survived by his daughter Hilary, granddaughter Maya, brother Gary and wife Penny, brother Ron, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bruce and Norma Barber, and extended family and close friends from across the country and around the world.  He was preceded in death by his wife Denise, his brother Ken, and his parents, Paul and Iris.

Wayne worked for Alyeska Pipeline Service Company as a Safety/IH Specialist at various locations along the Trans Alaska Pipeline System (TAPS) starting in the 1970’s, transferring to SOHIO Alaska Petroleum Company after start-up, and rejoining Alyeska from April 8, 1987 through March 28, 1997.

Wayne and Denise left Alaska, spending a few years in California when Wayne worked for NorCal.  They were happy to return to Alaska and Wayne joined Peak Oilfield Service Company, reconnecting with his TAPS co-workers before retiring and enjoying long road trips.  Wayne treasured the people in his life, always so happy to visit in person and receive an email or phone call to keep connected to family and friends.

A memorial service is not planned at this time.

I've wondered over the years what ever happened to Wayne.  Now that I know I'm sorry I didn't reach out.  Wayne was a very competent Safety Professional and one of the nicest people I've had the pleasure to know as was his wife Denise.  Rest in peace both of you.
