I knew Steve and Judy long before he joined the pipeline. I worked with him at Pump 9 for a number of years before I moved to the Projects department and to Anchorage. Any one who knew Steve never had a bad thing to say about him. You could always count on him in a pinch. Judy I'm so sorry for your loss.

Judy,
We are so sorry to hear about Steve's passing. He was a good level 6 Ops technician and was curious about all aspects of the pipeline. When both of us had time to spare we would sometimes spend it covering how and what Instrumentation technicians did for their job requirements. He would quickly get the hang of the subjects covered. He was also pleasant to be around.
Condolences to all of your family. Harold & Mary Anderson

In my early years at Alyeska, whenever I had a visit to one of Steve's stations - if I recall correctly, I think he worked both at PS09 and PS10 at various times - he was the technician I most looked forward to seeing. He was unfailingly helpful, polite, and solution-oriented in a way that set him apart from the rest of his peers, at least when it came to putting up with town-based engineers like myself at the time. I never knew him on a personal level, but those kind of qualities are never just learned and executed on the job. Steve was a great guy to work with, and an excellent example of what made Alyeska a great place to work.
