                    - May 2, 2021

Wallis M. McCoy, age 77, died on Sunday, May 2, 2021 in the care of hospice with his loved ones close to him.

While Wallis went into final rest in Tallahassee, FL, he only lived in the area for three years. He spent most of his years in Alaska, Hawaii, and traveling the globe. Wallis was worldly. Wallis and his wife would travel to New York, where they enjoyed Broadway plays and eccentricities of the city. They also traveled to London, Mexico, and Jamaica. Wherever they went, they enjoyed the cultures and people watching.

When rooted, he devoted his time to his children, numerous varying pets (from coy fish to Parrots), working in the yard, and riding horses with his wife. He would later enjoy 13 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Wallis is predeceased by his parents David and Louise (Whitlock) McCoy, and survived by his wife, Sandy McCoy; his 4 children, Scott McCoy, Michelle McDonald (Glenn), Ron Juliussen, and Valeria Wessel; his brother David McCoy (Eloma), and his 13 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Wow. Mac and I went through a lot at Alyeska, especially in the months and year after the Exxon Valdez wreck and spill.  We formed a little group of Department Managers that tried to help keep the company together and operating while all of executive management was consumed with the aftermath and fallout. Mac was running Systems and Computing (later IT) and he really stepped up and leaned into the expanded, informal responsibility. I really respected him for it. Unfortunately, the mess around the initial fiberoptic installation and the Kanas Company and then MFS proved his undoing and he left Alyeska under a bit of a cloud. He was a mild mannered guy who always tried to do his best. Sorry to see him go.  RIP Mac.
